Comic book readin' women are up in arms over this new figurine featuring a sexualized, barefoot Mary Jane washing Spidey's outfit. It's not like comics aren't gender biased-- for years, they've been the realm of adolescent boys, and the artists know nothing if not how to keep their audience interested. But apparently that's changing. Related: Watching Heroes last night, I was surprised to notice that all the commercials were for women's clothing and even a thigh cream. 24's commercials are all about videogames and cars. So apparently the best superhero show to come along in years is actually driven by a female audience. Wow!
