Fascinating article about "pretty" vs. "glitch" jumping in platforming games (like Assassin's Creed, ha). I never realized that this was why some games (Mario) feel super responsive and some games (Tomb Raider) feel a little sluggish -- it's because designers are trying to make it look right instead of feel right. I do prefer my games to "feel right" (I love me a super responsive platformer), but I think that now, whenever I jump in a game that has a glitch jump, I'll notice how bad it looks. Thanks a lot, Game-ism.
