Ok so I've found out more about that new Valve game, Portal (because I'm just so fascinated with it). Apparently the idea for it was actually created by a company called Nuclear Monkey Software at Digipen, and they made a game called Narbacular Drop to show off their idea (only use the PlanetMirror link if you want to download it, there's some nasty spyware on the others). Anyway, it's awesome, really mind-bending puzzle stuff. Can't wait to play it with the Source engine.
