For some reason, I was watching this Alyssa Milano 1-800-COLLECT ad in a fit of nostalgia when I realized all those 1-800 commercials for making collect calls are gone now. Why is that? My coworker suggests that it's because cell phones are much more popular, so no one actually makes collect calls any more. But someone does-- while Mother's Day is the most popular holiday for phone calls, Father's Day is the most popular for collect calls. Mother's day is number two for collect calls, and number three: Valentine's Day.
