Wow, that’s really dark.
It looks like Doom 3, actually. A lot like Doom 3. Are you sure this isn’t just the expanison to Doom 3?
Hmmm, I remember Quake being a little lighter. And I remember it being a first person shooter. Is this a first person shooter? I can’t really tell.
Whoah, look at that guy, he’s got like blood on him and machinery and stuff. I can’t remember the story to Quake 2– weren’t they on another planet or something? Troggs or something? I think that was what they were called. They didn’t look much like this, though. I remember the sound they made, too. Wxxxquizzzchkttt. Something like that. I don’t see that in this trailer.
I remember there being a rocket launcher, too! Man I use to rule with that thing. What was that one map called? It had a big arena in the center, and an elevator going up and down. There was that one place where you could swim underwater to the cavern where the railgun was. THE RAILGUN! Man, I used to own with the railgun. I murdered tons of people on my college LAN. Good times. I love Quake.
I don’t see a railgun anywhere in this trailer.
I don’t see much of anything in this trailer actually. What’s happening now? There’s some jumping and shooting. I think I saw that walking creature the first time, when it was in Half Life 2. When did Quake become “ID’s other game”? And what’s with everybody with the puffy faces? I’m not down with any of that.
Oh, yeah, and what about Quake 3 Arena, too? Did that just never happen in the Quake universe? I want to play as that eyeball on the stick again! I don’t see him in this trailer at all.
Look, that guy just shot this monster away from him. Come to think of it, when you shoot monsters, why don’t they actually move like they got hit by the bullet. Why doesn’t anything in first person shooters move like it should– objects should have weight and momentum. You know, like in Half Life 2.
What’s this? Oh, the flash video player has died. Oh well, I guess I’m not finishing the trailer. Meh. Oh, look, it’s almost 2:00, time for me to go buy Half Life 2 instead of anything ID has put out in the last five years.
